BizBox strives to use art as an effective medium to create intense awareness for the HIV/Aids pandemic in South Africa and the world.
Objectives
Raise awareness of South African Mural Art
Raise funds for feeding e’Pap (a nutriceutical porridge) to orphaned and underprivileged children
Leave a Legacy of the fight against this dreaded disease
Show that there is life after the positive diagnosis
We believe art is an international language and that it will depict HIV/Aids in a different and innovative way for all members of South Africa and the world to understand. Therefore, communities and organizations can contribute to make their own difference for mankind.
The Chronicles of the Living includes having a traveling HIV/Aids exhibition in all of the cities chosen, namely Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg in South Africa and various other countries worldwide such as Mexico, Spain, Japan and Canada. The names of all sponsors and organizers will be publicized in various forms during and after the campaign.
The exhibition will comprise of:
Audio and visual presentations
Speeches (by prominent figures in the community, country or world)
Dancing and singing acts
Distribution of pamphlets about HIV/Aids awareness
Art exhibits by international and local artists
Children from primary and high schools will be invited as well as children from Aids orphanages. The art exhibits will be presented by local artists from the community as well as international artists.
Another component of the campaign will include a permanent monument (Legacy) to be unveiled at the exhibition. The monument will be large enough to be seen from afar and will contain the mural paintings completed by the international and local artists as well as African beadwork inserted by local artists from the community. Thereby, adding African influence to the countries abroad by using beads to beautify the monument. The monument will be situated in a recognized area within each city where it will be constantly noticed by passers-by. This monument will symbolize those who are affected or infected with Aids and those who made an effort to relieve some of the suffering endured.
BizBox has begun preparations by contacting media sponsors, professional architects, the municipality, local and international artists and also various potential sponsors for this noble initiative. When funding is secured, the Chronicles of the Livingwill take place from June 2006 until approximately December 2008.
The ultimate goal of the Chronicles of the Livingis to use funds generated to distribute the sole product of BizBox, e’Pap (a nutriceutical porridge), to orphaned and underprivileged children in South Africa for ten years.
In order for this project to be a success, BizBox is in need of a sponsor to fund the Port Elizabeth part of the campaign. If you are interested in contributing to the education and lives of our community and general public please contact us as soon as possible.
Help make a positive difference by feeding and caring for your nation.
